Gaithersburg, MD, September 1, 2026 – The National Environmental Balancing Bureau (NEBB) announces the release of the 10th Edition of the Procedural Standard for Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing of Environmental Systems (TAB).
This updated edition outlines the requirements for firm and professional certification, including educational and experience qualifications, reporting standards, and instrumentation guidelines. The NEBB TAB Procedural Standard serves as the foundation for the program, similar to other NEBB disciplines.
The NEBB Procedural Standard for Testing, Adjusting and Balancing of Environmental Systems establishes a uniform and systematic set of criteria for the performance of the testing, adjusting and balancing of environmental of Heating, Ventilating and Air-Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
This Tenth Edition represents an update from past editions but remains divided into two distinct parts, standards and procedures. This Procedural Standard has been developed using language defined by “Required” (Minimum Requirements) as it relates to the standards and procedures described in this manual.
NEBB Firms are required to own the latest version of a Procedural Standard to meet the requirements of firm recertification.
